BarreConcept - a unique workout based in Cambridgeshire, combines the elements of Pilates, dance, yoga, resistance training and ballet into highly effective workout performed at a ballet barre and core work on a mat.
The small isometric contractions are performed with an interval training approach that burns fat and improves cardiovascular fitness. Your posture, flexibility, stamina and core strength will improve. The result is a body that is realigned, re-balanced and works harmoniously and efficiently and the effect are a long lean dancer’s body without being a dancer.
Various modifications are given throughout the class to suit all abilities. In each energising workout, you'll use the barre and exercise equipment, such as mini balls and small hand weights to sculpt and slim your entire body.

As a professional dancer graduating from Northern School of Contemporary Dance, I took time out to have my children. Whilst on maternity leave,I felt I needed to exercise that helped my mind as well as make me strong again and that's when I found Barre. Barre stimulates my mind and pushes my body, making me mentally and physically stronger.
Doing a fitness class that combines elements of dance not only allowed me to fulfil my passion but encouraged me to work hard and get my body back.
That's when I found BarreConcept and I was hooked! My body has bounced back to when I was a dancer and its excites me. I am now a qualified Barre concept teacher and love every moment.
I am now qualified in Pre and Post Natal fitness and have recently qualified as a 3rd Age Peri and Post Menopause Specialised Wellness Coach.
